01 — Veneers

Grain has direction.

Elegance Veneers is a material studio in Canada Corner, Nashik, where natural and engineered veneers can be considered as surfaces for furniture, walls and details. The useful starting points are simple: how the grain runs, how the cut changes it and how the finish receives light.

Look close, then step back.

A surface is never just a colour.

The same tone can feel calm, lively, formal or warm depending on the direction of its grain and the amount of light moving across it. A sample earns its place by making sense in the room it will inhabit.

Bring a drawing, a colour direction or simply an idea. We can begin with a small group of references rather than a catalogue of everything.

The useful vocabulary

Three things to notice.

These are not rules. They are a way to slow the decision down enough to see what the sheet is doing.

01

Grain

Look at the direction first. Long movement can make a surface feel quieter; a stronger figure can become the detail in the room.

02

Cut

Flat-cut and quarter-cut patterns place the growth lines differently. The cut is part of the visual decision, not a footnote.

03

Finish

Oil, lacquer or another finish changes depth, touch and reflection. Read the sample near the light it will actually meet.

Four tonal studies

A small comparison is often enough.

Use these realistic colour and grain material studies to start a direction. Exact product names, grades and availability belong to the final selection.

Art in the grain.

Some sheets ask to be the room's quiet note. Some become the whole sentence.

Inlay and marquetry bring a different kind of attention: joins, rhythm and colour held inside a surface. The realistic material study keeps the focus on those decisions without pretending to depict a real installation.

Fictional material inspiration: flowing curves, geometric rhythm and a sample turned toward light.

Questions worth asking

Before you choose.

If the answer changes with the room, it belongs in the conversation.

What is the difference between natural and engineered veneer?

Natural veneer shows the character of a real wood surface. Engineered veneer is made to create a more controlled, repeatable grain appearance. The right choice depends on the visual direction, the application and the finish you want to see.

Can I see veneer samples in Nashik?

Yes. Elegance Veneers is at No. 12 and 13, Business Square Shops, Anandwan Colony, Canada Corner, Nashik. Visit Monday to Saturday, 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Sunday is closed.

What should I bring to a sample conversation?

A drawing, colour direction, fabric reference or simply the feeling you want the room to have. It is easier to compare surfaces when the surrounding palette is part of the conversation.
